Representative Shehu Sponsors 3 Bills, Motions To Institute FMC, Dental College, Sports University

A Member representing Fagge Federal Constituency of Kano State, Hon.( Barr.) Muhammad Bello Shehu sponsored 3 bills and Motions on the floor of the Green Chamber to establish Federal Medical Center (FMC), Dental College of Technology and University of Sports.
The former Lecturer of Aminu Kanu College of Islamic and Legal Studies disclosed this today in his National Assembly Office, Abuja. According to him, his State, Kano has no single FMC, given the dense population of his Constituency in particular and his State at large. He lamented that, there are lots of medical challenges, as the few available medical facilities cannot meet the needs of his people in the State. He explained that the only State Teaching Hospital and few General Hospitals as well as Private Hospitals, both at the state and local governments cannot accommodate the pressure from citizens of the state. Having been informed politically to come and make a difference in representation at the Parliamentary level, he quickly swung into action by initiating three bills on the floor of the House for the establishment of a FMC in Kano, Dental College of Technology for training of Dentists in Kano, as none of such schools are located in the Northern part of the country except Enugu state, in the Eastern part of Nigeria. The Third Bill presented by him advocates for the establishment of a Sports University in Kano, which will give Nigerian youths vast opportunites to go into sports, taking them out the streets and as well, qualify them to be playing both local and International leagues. He added that, there are already existing infrastructures for the take off of the proposed University of Sports, as the former governor of the state, Engr. Rabiu kwankwaso has already established a Sports Institute, which will easily be converted to a University of Sports. He further explained that, all the Bills have passed first reading, awaiting second reading.
Hon. Shehu also stated that a motion has been moved by him on the floor of the House to tackle the menese of flooding which has been bedeveiling his Constituency, which according to him, Mr. Speaker, Hon Tajudeen Abbas has graciously passed and referred it to Approprition Committee to capture it in the coming budget. The One Time Staff of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) is also ready to move another motion when the House resumes from recess, calling for action to be taken by government on the road linking Kano State and the entire Northern Nigria to Niger and other international Communities within the West African sub-region, which is in dire need of Federal Government Presence and assistance. In his view, these are the issues that he intends to make a difference as effective representaion is concerned.
The Deputy House Committee Chairman on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well, expressed his nationalistic spirit by virtue of been a Federal Parliamentarian, by demonstrating to the world that Nigeria is his entire Constituency; for accepting to present a petition brought before him by the former Niger Delta Militants, concerning their pending allowances,owed them by the Federal Government of Nigeria. In his wisdom and willingness to serve as a concerned Nigerian, presented the said petition on the floor of the House and is recieving adequate, positive attention and justice, he re-stated.
Responding to question on his assessment of the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr.Abba Kabir Yusuf, he gave a pass mark for excellent performance for the governor to have revived the administrative roadmap that was laid down since Audu Bako, refocused by Governor Rabiu kwankwaso; which the administration that took over after him abandoned. ” The Governor currently is doing his best actually, meeting an empty treasury. Illegal structures every where in the city, unmanaged roads, the decayed in educational system. I am sure things are not easy for him, but he is a Master and Captain of the ship and I believe, he will sailed safe,” he assured.
