His Excellency, Chief Dr. Godswill Obot Akpabio, CON, is said to be tested and trusted leader. This was made known by Hon. Martins Esin, at the inauguration of the 10th Assembly recently in Abuja.

Hon. Martins Esin, is the Honourable Member Representing Oron/Mbo/Okobo/Udung Uko/Urueoffong Oruko, Federal Constituency Akwa-Ibom State.
According to him, “His Excellency, Chief Dr. Godswill Obot Akpabio, CON, is tested and trusted leader in this country. You all know what he did in Akwa-Ibom State when he was a Governor between 2007-2015. I think Nigeria is the biggest beneficiary because I know that with him as the Senate President Nigeria will be happy”.

“The position of the Senate President is the No 3 position in this country. I am not sure there is anybody that will not want to be associated with the number 3 personality of this country.”

Expressing his view on election, Hon Martins said, “Today for me is a day of delivery, we went through the election, became members elect, did all the politics and today Speaker has emerged.”
“My Constituents is also happy today because the person they voted for has been inaugurated. It is a happy day.”
Also, during the election of Hon. Tajudeen Abbas it appears the entire house did a consensus. He scored 353 votes out of 360. It is a consensus indicating that the House put competence over everything.”
Speaking on Hon. Tajudeen’s credibility, he said, “Hon. Tajudeen is a man who has 75 Bills to his credit; 21 has been signed by Mr President. Also, the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, has over 40 Bills to his credit over 2 have been signed. These are the parameters the Honourable Members looked into and unanimously elected the Speaker and Deputy Speaker; Rt Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, and Hon. Benjamin Kalu.
