Meet the first Nigerian To Reach Antarctica, The Coldest Part Of The Earth
Arthur Nwabufo, is the first Nigerian to reach the Antarctica, an expedition that was done to celebrate 200 years Russian navigators discovered the place. According to Rising Sun History, Nwabufo made the sail with other Russians on Pallada, a vessel that was built in 1989 in Poland, at the shipyard of Gdansk
The celebrated Nigerian is a navigator and cadet at the Far Eastern State Technical Fisheries University of Russia. It is also considered as the pride of the university.
The underpinning of the expedition is to celebrate 200 years’ discovery of the Antarctica by Russian navigators. Nwabufo’s feat was made known in a letter sent to him Tuscheko, the head of foreign department in his school.
