Kogi State is recognised and confirmed as oil producing State this was made public by the Governor of the state Alh Yahaya Adoza Bello, when he was chairing the State Executive Council at the Lugard House, Lokoja .

The Governor said the State has received its first payment of 13% derivation fund today Thursday.

Kogi State is the first state in northern Nigeria to be recognised as an oil producing state.

With this recognition the age – long oil disputes between the two border communities of Kogi and Anambra states has come to an end .
