Chartered Institute of Educational Practitioners UK (CIEPUK) and Institute of International Peace Leaders organised 4th International Investiture and awards: IIPL induction ceremony for 54 African Country Directors with the theme: Sustainable Youth Capacity Development- Towards Youth Education and Empowerment.
The event featured Induction and awards presentation to those who have contributed immensely in education.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Okechukwu Ezenwoye Marcel, President Chartered Institute of Educational Practitioner UK, (CIEPUK) charged Nigerians to acquire basic training and knowledge in CIEPUK for wealth and job creation.
According to him, “you have to come to us to get trained and retrain to become useful members of the society and your family. We have done a lot of investment in the youth.”
“We are partnering with different organisations to train 50,000 sex workers in various skills acquisition. Also, we are organising capacity building for the teachers to help them develop more skills to impact to the students.”
Prof. Marcel who calls on all hands to be on deck, encourage quality education also urged key stakeholders to support education in Nigeria.
Contributing, His Excellency Peter Obi, the former Governor of Anambra State and Labour Party Presidential Aspirant come 2023, who was ably represented by Ndubuisi Menaka said education is the most important aspect of national development.
According to him, “We cannot emphasize more on human development and youth empowerment. It all lays on education. Education is the growth of every society; no society grows without education. Education can never be over emphasized”.
Describing ASUU strike as worrisome, he said, “Universities have kept millions of students at home. We are battling with the problem of unemployment and insecurity; and lack of education brings insecurity. People that are not educated will result to other means.”
The Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Dennis Ude, said he is glad to chair the occasion as a fellow of the institute. He advised the youth to ensure they set goals and achieve it.
He also encourage them to go to credible institutions like CIEPUK to acquire education and training for the development of the country.
He charged the youth to take advantage of quality education CIEBUK gives and develop themselves.
Francis Daniel Okumagba, President of FMG Empowerment, encouraged Nigerians to think outside the box; create jobs and wealth for themselves.
He said that money is flowing in the streets of Nigeria and should be enough to take care of everyone in the country.
Mr Francis who charged the youth to be creative, innovative and think of solution to problems through ICT, also emphasized the importance of collaboration and partnership in businesses.
