The National Council for Women Society (NCWS) organised a programme to mark 100days in office with the theme: Transition Politics: The Challenges and Prospects for Gender Inclusion in Nigeria today in Abuja.
Speaking at the occasion, the fifteenth National President, NCWS, Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau,” thanked God Almighty for his and mercy for helping her pilot the affairs of women in Nigeria.
She said that the body is now 50year in Nigeria and Africa. According to her,” this event is historic as we have achieved more than expected. Providing economic empowerment for women, and child protection.

She said that the mandate is on going and NCWS with its partners are training women on skills acquisition. The Council have done advocacy to sensitize women in different states.
She added that today’s event is historic and that women are powerful agent of change. She encouraged women to discuss with their husbands to shun political thuggery.
In her keynote address, the keynote address speaker, Dr Hauwa Mohammad Mainoma, “said women constitutes 50% of voters and should be allowed to occupy important positions in the country.”
She maintained that women are full of potentials, and they are efficient to execute any task given to them.
She mentioned some of the Challenges confronting women’s political appointments such as: funding, representation, awareness, religion, culture, togetherness, electoral system, dominance, education, advocacy, relevance, team work, and handwork.
Goodwill messages were delivered by INEC Chairman, Chairman National Population Commission, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) and hosts of others.
