
The Fellow of Nigeria Society of Engineers and the General Manager of Renewable Energy , Niger Delta Power Holding Company of Nigeria , Engr. Valarine who spoke to newsmen at the just concluded induction ceremony for new Engineers , says Engineering in Nigeria is growing.
” We are head towards the right direction as Nation because we have a better working relationship with Federal Government and Private sector. We are building a strong collaboration with stakeholders both in private and public sector for maximum results.
While speaking on the capacity of the new members, she says we have put them in the right direction for quality work delivery. Our society today require competence engineers that will driving our sector and deliver result oriented projects that will generate a global standard.
” She maintained that, the induction of new members is the things of joy , it means we are growing and we are mentoring a news one into the field of engineer for better production . we have exposing them to the better practice of engineering standard and how to be effectively maintaining the roles and ethics of the profession without diluted knowledge.
Saturday Greenland news, gathered from Engr. Valarine Agbaragba , that our engineering system in Nigeria is growing faster . She used the opportunity to urged the inductees to take stand to defend ethical conduct and regulations of the profession.
” she charged them to given their best to meet global standard in discharge their duties and to avoid short cut in service delivery at all times
” She advised that, quality representation is what is needed in the field . She urges them to take advantage of the mentoring system and skill acquired to deliver excellent practice at all level, avoid cut corners as money is not every thing in delivery service, she added” .
Mrs. Agbaragba, advised the inductees to put in according to the global standard to redeem the image of engineering profession in Nigeria. The induction ceremony is the signification of good mentoring and growing as a profession, We have exposing them to good best practices of our engineering profession, she said “.
Engr. Abdullateef Aliyu , the Guest lecturer, While speaking to newsmen at the occasion, says focus and is what we need to build our engineering sector in Nigeria. We should build our country by ourselves, our people are so intelligent.
“He maintained that , Engineers should build a strong network to enable them provide solutions to the existing problem in our dear country. He charged them to be responsible in Capacity building to deliver result to the country. Adding that, those that have done it well in other countries are not better than us , we just need to think a little more with right finishing to get it right , he said “.
in his statement, we do not need any expert from any where to develop our country, we need a clear blue print to forge ahead. We just need to be focused, determine and think of where we want to be . China and US did their own by themselves, we have skills to develop our country.
“He commended the efforts of some key stakeholders in this adminstration for putting in their best to change the face of our engineering sector. He pleaded with the Federal Government to create enabling environment for Engineer to strive. Our educational system and Health need urgent attention, and intervention, infrastructure is also not excluded.
” He advised the inductees to be time conscious, as time is the most and irreplaceable resource that can’t be wasted. Plan and think well to widen the scope of their services. He urged them to go outside their circle to network with other professionals for better synergy, this will help them to learn much and faster.
