Lawyers have been described as the mirror of the society. This was said by Adjeh Monday yesterday in Abuja.
Adjeh Monday who is the Chairman, Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Bwari Branch, (Cradle Bar), made this known at the just concluded 2022 Law Week held in Abuja.
According to him, “Lawyers are the mirror of the society and most live up to their expectation by doing what the society expected of them; so that the society will be better for us and we will be a better country in the midst of other countries of the world.”
In his words:
“The theme of this year’s Law Week is “the State of the Nation”, where are the Lawyers. When you talk of the Lawyers we are talking about the quality of Lawyers that will come to the aid of the nation that is at the verge of collapse.”
“Experienced Lecturers from the Nigeria Law Schools were invited to throw more light on the topic.”
“They buttressed on how to reform the curriculum that will produce good lawyers that will come out of the Nigeria Law School.”
Speaking on the significance of the event Adjeh said, “ by the special grace of God you will see a different Lawyers within this jurisdiction, performing their duties and intervening in national issues that will bring policy direction to our society and our immediate environment.”
“I will assure you that any moment from now we will be playing our role as Stakeholders in this project called Nigeria.”
Other speakers at the event includes: Prof. Ernest Ojukwu, former Director General, Enugu Law School, Agbani, Director General, Nigerian Law School Bwari, ably represented by S. A. Osamolu, Director and Head of Academic, Hon. Justice K. N Ogbonnaya, Prof. Oluyemisi Bamgbose, Comrade Annah Daniel, Chairperson Nigerian Association of Women Journalists, Abuja Branch and host of others.
