
Nigeria is described as the most blessed nation in the world. Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu made this known at the Presidential Declaration of his interest to run for the office of Mr President of Nigeria come 2023 today in Abuja.
Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu who is the current Minister of Science and Technology said, “he
sincerely believe that the greatness of our nation depends on the youth and Nigeria is the most blessed nation in the world.
Dr. Onu who is passionate about the youth said, “he saw the young people of Nigeria as the greatest asset and treasure that the nation has. He promised to give them priority and enabling environment.
According to him, ” Young people are the most valuable treasure of the nation and are more valuable than crude oil, natural gas, gold, silver and other minerals.”

Dr Onu who promised to provide jobs and skills to young people if elected President also said, ” I know that what is needed is to provide our young people with the necessary skills to transform our dear nation for the benefit of the world. I also know that it is science, technology and Innovation that can provide these skills that are badly needed. The “EndSARS” protest have shown one of the dangers of not providing these skills.”
He promised to use key of science, technology and Innovation to unlock the creativity, Innovation and incentiveness of young people. It will also enhance food production and nutrition security of the nation.
Dr Onu maintained that Science, Technology and Innovation are the driving force for national development and if giving the opportunity will use it to improve Healthcare delivery, food and nutrition security, and many more.

In his Speech, Prof. Hakeem Fawehinmi, the Leader of Patriots for Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, and the former DVC (Academics) University of PortHarcout said, if Dr Ogbonnaya Onu is given the mantle of leadership will advance and improve the well being of the citizens.
According to him, “Nigeria as it is today is going through perilous times and more than ever before needs an experienced and dynamic leadership with the capacity to pull her from the brinks.
He noted that a multicultural society like Nigeria requires a nationalistic leader and technocrat like Dr Ogbonnaya Onu that can be entrusted with its unity and treasury and can provide a transformational leadership devoid of sentiments and rancour.
In his words:
“He has never had a brawl with the anti-corruption agencies, and this gives him the moral justification to fight corruption. He prefers meritocracy to nepotism as a way of earning the confidence of the people. And has demonstrated capacity to work with every Nigerian irrespective of religious or tribal persuasions.”
Prof. Fawehinmi charged political and opinion leaders to make a clarion call to well meaning Nigerians to synergize, pull resources together, build bridges across party lines and rally support from the various regional interest groups for Dr Ogbonnaya Onu.
