Health Bank: Panacea to health challenges in Nigeria – Balogun Ajiboye

The Government has been charged to establish Health Bank to reduce Health challenges in Nigeria.

Balogun Ajiboye made this known in a chat with the GreenLand News recently in Abuja.
Balogun Ajiboye who is the President Association of General Private Nursing Practitioners of Nigeria, said, “Health is wealth. We have Bank of Agriculture, Bank of Industry and others. Why is there no Bank of health?”
He advised the government to establish bank of health, upgrade the Health sector and meet up with international standard.

In his words:
“The budget for health in Nigeria does not meet the international standard. WHO specified 26% while Nigeria delivers 4 %. Meanwhile, 70% are often embezzled by individuals.”

He stressed that the Health sector is a critical sector that should be properly funded and not politicised.

Balogun also maintain that private Health sector should be properly funded and supported just like in Australia where the government establish and fund private hospitals while the individual refund installmentally.
This helps to save lives and give back to the Society.

He pleaded with the government to create enabling environment and avoid multiple taxation to allow private practitioners strive in Nigeria.
